Have you ever been devastated by something that happened in your life and you stopped caring about your body and let things slide for too long? After Jake’s wife left him and his 5 month old son behind, he turned to booze and eating to soothe the pain. He gained over 30 lbs and when he hit rock bottom, he decided to give P90X a try. As a former marine, he had learned discipline and he applied that dedication to P90X. He not only gave it all he had in the workouts, he took time to learn about nutrition and nailed it! He loves Shakeology and that is a big part of his P90X nutrition plan.
I’m so thrilled to Jacob on our team! His transformation is amazing and he’s an amazing guy as well. He’s now coaching and help other people to change their lives!

IN HIS OWN WORDS:
When I moved out on my own I let bad habits run rampant in my life. I went from skinny to decently built through the Marine Corps but as the years went on, and I got married and had a child I let my health slip. When my ex wife had an affair and signed off parental rights I let exercise and nutrition take a backseat to video games and alcohol.
My primary focus was my son, and I never let my bad habits effect that, but I was lacking the energy to be a “great” dad like he deserved. My weight was steadily climbing, one year it reached just under 200 lbs. I started hitting the gym and starving myself but I never really got it under control and I would always end up right back to where I started.
The day I said ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH was when I was watching Rocky (the new one) with my girlfriend Adriana and my son Trent. There was a motivational moment in the film where Rocky said “You, me or nobody, is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit… It’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. how much you can take, and keep moving forward. That´s how winning is done! Now, if you know what you’re worth, go out and get what you worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits. And not pointing fingers saying, You ain´t what you wanna be because of him or her or anybody. ”
I looked at her, I looked at myself, I looked at my son, as we all sat there eating Taco Bell. Seeing my son sip down a Baja Blast Mountain Dew. I felt sick… Something arose within me, I was DONE being unhealthy. I was DONE saying I’d start changing my life tomorrow but never doing it. I was DONE blowing my money on fast food and being a bad example tomy son.
We have a gym at our apartment complex and we figured if we could just find a routine that showed us how to work out properly we could get things going. After some google searching on personal trainer routines P90X came up. We looked over the program, saw the testimonials online and decided to commit to it.
My life before P90X was a haze of fast food, laziness, and wanting to get healthy but not knowing where to begin. I barely had enough energy or the desire to do anything with my son outdoors. Now that I’ve completed the program (twice) and am currently about to hit one year working out with Beachbody programs, my life is incredible. My body is more fit than it’s EVER been and I can’t remember the last time I had this much energy.
I still don’t recognize myself in the mirror. My confidence levels are through the roof! Life is SO much better now. It makes me sad to think that for the last 8 or so years, I’ve been putting all of that junk into my body. I’m glad that I too control now before it got worse.
What was it like having a coach and being a part of our team?
One of the most important aspects of my transformation, and why I’ve been able to commit my life to healthy eating and exercise, is the support of my coach and the online community as being part of his team provides. I received tons of good information about nutrition that really helped me maximize my efforts, and going online to check in with the community is FUN. I can post what workouts I’ve been doing, the progress I’m making, videos and pictures etc. It turns Facebook into something productive, inspiring, and encouraging. Support is truly the winning element when combined with fitness and nutrition.
Committing to a healthy lifestyle is so much fun when you share it with others, and I feel just so blessed to be a part of it. My life is forever changed!
